About Me
My name is Matthew White, and I am a Certified Personal Trainer with the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology.
Born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, I bring 12+ years of advanced education, research and clinical experience to the Personal Training profession.
I hold a Master of Science degree in Physical Activity and Health Promotion from the University of Rome Tor Vergata, in Rome, Italy. In addition, I hold a Bachelor of Arts (Specialized Honours) in Kinesiology and Health Science from York University, in Toronto, Canada.
During my undergraduate degree I was selected to spend a semester gaining experience at the Muscle Health Research Center at York University. While completing my masters degree in Italy, I increased my knowledge and practical skills working as a Physiotherapy Assistant at Fisio Flaminio in the center of Rome.
I am a Registered Kinesiologist with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario and currently work for my local health center delivering cardiac rehabilitation exercise. This role gives me specialized experience working with clinical populations and individuals with a range of physical abilities.
My approach to training is grounded in scientific, evidence-based principles of exercise physiology and focused on improving the overall quality of life for each individual I work with. I design safe, structured, and individualized programs tailored to each individual’s specific goals, experience level, and health objectives. Through 1-on-1 training sessions and personalized workout programs, I help individuals build strength, improve performance, manage chronic disease and increase both physical and mental well-being. Whether working with those seeking better general health or athletes pursuing higher performance, my goal is to support sustainable progress and long-term health through thoughtful, progressive training.
